This guide guides you through the necessary steps to connect Aeotec MultiSensor 6 (ZW100) with SmartThings Connect via Z-Wave. - Power your MultiSensor 6. Ensure that the LED is cycling through Rainbow colors before moving forward once it is powered.
- (Recommended) Plug in the right angle microUSB head into the microUSB slot and the USB A into any 5V 1-3A USB Adapter.
- Acts as a Repeater and plays a part of your Z-Waves mesh network.
- Always active and easily configurable.
- Can be powered over 100ft+ distance using Power over Ethernet (PoE power).
- Or insert 1x or 2x CR123A batteries (3.7V Rechargable batteries not compatible).
- Does not act as a repeater.
- Must be woken up to configure.
- Easier to install and determine placement.
- Minimum report time is 240 seconds for its sensors (at the cost of total battery life).
- (Recommended) Plug in the right angle microUSB head into the microUSB slot and the USB A into any 5V 1-3A USB Adapter.
- Launch Samsung's SmartThings Connect app on your Android or iOS smartphone.
- Tap the + button on the dashboard.
- Tap Add device in the drop down menu.
- Tap Scan located at the top right corner of your screen.
- Press the Action Button on MultiSensor 6 once.
The LED will flash green during the pairing process. Once successful, the LED will become solid green for 2 seconds, and either flash its yellow LED or de-activate its LED. - The MultiSensor 6 will automatically appear after a short time.
- Rename your sensor or leave its original name. If you are finished, press the < back button and scroll down to the Unassigned room to find your MultiSensor 6.
In the below image, the MultiSensor 6 was renamed as "MS6". - If you click on the MultiSensor 6 device, you can view its other 5 sensors in its device page.
